Greetings in Christ!
Hope everyone has stayed cool this summer. I’m looking forward to cooler weather this fall! Which reminds me of the Annual Meeting of the United Women in Faith! Practicing Hope Together is our theme this year. We will meet at St Paul United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg. “The Church in the Heart of the City, with the City at Heart”
Some UWF Conference Officers met in July with District 6 President and Treasurer, joined by members of St Paul’s Church staff. We did a walk-through of the Church to find areas we needed for meeting. The sanctuary is just beautiful!!! They have a Prayer Room right off of the sanctuary. Their basement is perfect for the displays! Several back to school tables were set up at the time. The Family Life Center is large with a few smaller rooms attached. These smaller rooms will be utilized for guests and treasurers.
Offerings will be taken both Friday night and Saturday morning. The missions supported this year (chosen by host district) were Edward’s Street and Moore Community House. We also encourage you to bring toiletries for Lofton House. This is a mission supported by St Paul’s, our host church.
Everyone is encouraged to wear purple on Saturday in support of ending Domestic Violence. The registration form is in this Beacon. Please note you have to register via mail. Yes!!! Snail mail! Payment is either check or money order. Hotel information is also included.
